Being means: not numbering and counting, but ripening like a tree, which doesn?t force its sap, and stands confidently in the storms of spring, not afraid that afterward summer may not come. It does come. But it comes only to those who are patient, who are there as if eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly silent and vast. I learn it every day of my life, learn it with pain I am grateful for: patience is everything!
We are called to be fruitful - not successful, not productive, not accomplished. Success comes from strength, stress, and human effort. Fruitfulness comes from vulnerability and the admission of our own weakness. sometimes...i read lovely stuff. sometimes...not.

There are many people who are sincere without being simple: they are ever afraid of being seen for what they are not; they are always musing over their words and thoughts and thinking about what they have done, in fear of having done or said too much. These people are sincere, but they are not simple: they are not at ease with others, and other people are not at ease with them. There is nothing easy about them, nothing free, spontaneous or natural. People who are imperfect, less regular, less masters of themselves, are more lovable. This is how people find them, and it is the same with God.

A brother said to an old man, ?I do not know of any warfare in my heart.? The old man said to him, ?Then you are a building open on all four sides. If you had windows and a door, and shut them so as to bar certain thoughts, you would soon realize how many there are outside, waiting to slip in and attack you.?

I know that life is a doorway to eternity, and yet my heart so often gets lost in petty anxieties. It forgets the great way home that lies before it. Unprepared, given over to childish trivialities, it could be taken by surprise when the great hour comes and find that, for the sake of piffling pleasures, the one great joy has been missed. I am aware of this, but my heart is not. It seems unteach- navigate around, why don't you?

The Very Last K-Yo Wedding Photos
and then i am off to do something cool...

Firstly, some random to work through it:

March of the Penquins: The best movie EVER. I only hope it comes out on dvd before Christmas so somebody can give it to me. I cried whenever a baby penquin, or a papa penguin died...and I also cried whenever a papa penguin or a mama penguin lost his or her baby. But I cried happy whenever a baby penguin snuggled up next to his mama penguin or fell on his furry butt or sang out loud. And I felt all kinds of nicely warm when mama and papa penguin caressed each other with their beaks.

Best Being Bobby Brown Moment of the Week
Bobby and Whitney are dancing at the Dior fundraiser. Bobby says, "Don't back that up, don't back that up," and then Whitney shakes her booty while she backs up into him. And now I can't stop doing that.

Thing I am Most Looking Forward To: Battle of the Network Reality TV Stars on Bravo. Bravo rules. Richard Hatch is awesome.

And now, some random extra photos from K-Yo's wedding:

There is a hard law?hen an injury is done to us, we never recover until we forgive.
Doing the deed.

Unfortunately, in seeing ourselves as we truly are, not all that we see is beautiful and attractive. This is undoubtedly part of the reason we flee silence. We do not want to be confronted with our hypocrisy, our phoniness. We see how false and fragile is the false self we project. We have to go through this painful experience to come to our true self.
My overall favorite photo from the wedding.

You yourself are the child you must learn to know, rear, and above all enlighten. To demand that others should provide you with answers is like asking a strange woman to give birth to your baby. There are insights that can be born only of your own pain, and they are the most precious. Seek in your child the undiscovered part of yourself.
K-Yo and I dance away at the shower.

True evangelism, based on the example of Jesus, does not suggest the missionary zeal of self-righteous proselytizers. It implies, on the contrary, the kind of all-embracing universality evident in Mother Teresa's prayer: May God break my heart so completely that the whole world falls in. Not just fellow nuns, Catholics, Calcuttans, Indians. The whole world. It gives me pause to realize that, were such a prayer said by me and answered by God, I would afterward possess a heart so open that even hate-driven zealots would fall inside.
It was a shoe wedding. Look how awesome our shoes are.

There is a life, though the world comprehends it not. It has a body without defect, want, misery, anger, or death. The Holy Spirit is its air and spirit, and it is filled with love and joy. This life has been from eternity, rising up and blossoming. It is not of this earth, but of another substance—eternal life.
During the toast. My second favorite wedding photo.

To all you who are in the process of birth: may each of you be strengthened and bud in the life of God, and grow, and bear fruit on the Tree of Paradise—may each branch and twig shelter all the others, that this tree may become a great tree. Then shall we all be filled with joy unspeakable, and glory.
Pretty flowers, happy girls.

At least we are not reading about those horrid books again.
I loved March of the Penquins, too!
